Apply to serve as the Town Clerk or Town Treasurer
The Fairfax Town Council is seeking candidates to fill the recently vacated elected positions of Town Clerk and Town Treasurer. Following the resignations of the previous officeholders, the Council has chosen to appoint individuals to serve the remainder of the current terms, which conclude in December 2026.
Application Process
- Application Deadline: January 29, 2025, at 12:00 a.m.
- Interviews: February 5, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
- Appointment Selection: February 5, 2025, following interviews.
Applications will be publicly reviewed, and selected candidates will serve until the end of their respective terms (December 2026).
Position Details
- Town Clerk: An unpaid ceremonial position that involves limited responsibilities.
- Town Treasurer: A position receiving a $300 monthly stipend, focused on periodic financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Town of Fairfax resident
- Registered to vote in the Town of Fairfax
