Marin County Public Works would like to alert you of changes in access for Bolinas Road. While it was originally planned to have the road open starting today (12/13/24) with single lane access around the milepost 5.73 project construction area, we will be keeping the road CLOSED from Azalea Hill to Highway 1 through this weekend. This is due to the storm.
We are planning to reopen the road as previously expected (single lane access through the construction area) this coming Monday, December 16. Weather permitting, it would then remain open through January 1, 2025, to accommodate holiday traffic.
Here is the revised overview of access for approximately the next month:
- At milepost 5.73, Bolinas Road will be open on weekdays and weekends from 12/16/24 through 1/1/25 (weather permitting), with traffic controlled through a single lane with alternating access. This is to accommodate the holiday traffic.
- From 1/2/25 through 1/5/25, the road will be closed at milepost 5.73 to allow for construction activities as the project nears completion, weather permitting.
- After 1/5/25, it is anticipated that the road will be closed from Azalea Hill to Ridgecrest on weekdays only (the pre-12/13/24 traffic control plan).
- Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-January and the roadway will fully reopen.
