Emergency Alerts
The Town of Fairfax and County of Marin offer two key platforms to keep you informed and connected with your community: AlertMarin and Nixle. Here’s how you can benefit from each:
1. AlertMarin: Countywide alert notification system
Emergency officials use the AlertMarin Emergency Notification System to provide you with critical information and potentially life-saving instruction. Those registered will receive the notification if they have been determined to be within the precise geographic area(s) affected. An AlertMarin notification will provide timely, clear, and accurate instruction in the form of a call, text, or email.
- Emergency Alerts: Wildfire evacuation instructions, flooding updates, or immediate public safety alerts
How to Sign Up:
- Visit the online portal to sign up.
- To register for Emergency Alerts outside of Marin County, go to ALERTtheBay.org
2. Nixle: Emergency Alerts and Community Notifications
Nixle delivers important updates directly to your phone or email, including:

- Community Notifications: Receive information on road closures, power outages, or other important town announcements.
