Join the Annual Great California ShakeOut!

Mark your calendars! This year’s International ShakeOut Day is on Thursday, October 17. Join millions of people across California and around the world in practicing earthquake safety during the Great California ShakeOut.

At 10:17 AM, participants will “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” to rehearse the actions to take when the ground starts shaking. If you can’t join at that specific time, don’t worry—you can register your drill for any day of the year and choose a time that works best for your group. You can also include participants in multiple locations by connecting virtually.

9.2 million people are currently registered to participate in this year’s Great California ShakeOut. 1,226,812 are from the Bay Area.
