Unusually hot and prolonged exposure to high temperatures can affect health. With the hottest conditions expected in the inland areas of Marin, the following cooling centers are open TODAY, Oct 2.

  • Fairfax Library: 9am – 8pm
  • Bolinas Library: 10am – 6pm
  • Civic Center Library: 9am – 6pm
  • Marin City Library: 10am – 8pm
  • Novato Library: 9am – 8pm
  • South Novato Library: 11am – 7pm
  • Mill Valley Community Center: 8:30am – 7pm (Pets on leash/in appropriate carriers and under control welcome)

Everyone is encouraged to limit sun exposure from 10 am to 4 pm and stay hydrated. Go to a cool place like a mall or library.

During heat waves, the elderly, young children, and people with pre-existing health conditions are at higher risk. If you’re 65 or older, ask a friend to check on you twice a day. Check on others in this age group as well.
