All California municipalities are mandated by state law to have a preapproval process for ADU plans by Jan. 1, 2025. This is intended to allow for ADUs to be approved on a more expedited basis. Starting January 1, Fairfax will post architect contact information of those that have preapproved plans available. These preapproved plans can be used anywhere in Town assuming the site conditions allow.
Prior to January 1, if you are an architect who would like their ADU plans designated as preapproved, please contact us at the Planning & Development Services Department to set up an appointment to review your plans and discuss the pre-approval process in more detail.
