Parks and Recreation Commission Interviews

Last night, the Town Council interviewed and appointed two applicants for the Parks and Recreation Commission: Lita Zigounakis and Rachel Fischbein.

Zoning Amendments to implement Program 2-D (Standards for Low Impact Clustered Residential Development on Large Sites)

Jeff Beiswenger, Planning and Building Director, and Dyett and Batia consultant, Andrew Hill delivered a presentation to describe the proposed zoning amendments to needed to implement the 2023-31 Housing Element by amending the following chapters of Title 17 (Zoning) of the Fairfax Municipal Code: 17.060 (Ridgeline Development); 17.072 (Hill Area Residential Development Overlay Zone); 17.124 (UR Upland Residential Zone). The second reading and possible adoption will take place at the next regular Town Council meeting on January 24, 2024.

Town Council Assignments for 2024

The Town Council reviewed their draft 2024 assignments and made minor adjustments. The Council’s assignments for 2024 are available online.

Bond Measure for road repairs in Fairfax

Heather Abrams, Town Manager, Michael Vivrette, Finance Director, Loren Umbertis, Public Works Director, and Wing-See Fox, Municipal Advisor delivered presentations to the Town Council about the possibility of exploring a voter-approved bond measure. The Council directed staff to poll the residents on bond options and collect data on the priorities and willingness to support a tax measure.
