Members of the Police Department received recognition at the May 1 meeting. Four members, including Police Services Technician Maya Patterson-Burch, Officer Mailk Carter, Detective Shelby Jones, and Lieutenant William Cade took their Oaths of Office together.

Introduction of an Ordinance adding a chapter called “Electronic Filing System,” to the Town of Fairfax Municipal Code approving electronic and paper methods of filing Campaign Finance Disclosure Statements
Deputy Town Clerk Christine Foster presented an ordinance proposing to add a new chapter to the Town Code to allow electronic campaign filing. The ordinance will be heard for its second reading at the next regular Town Council meeting on June 5, 2024.

Display of Rainbow Flags and Painted Crosswalk for Pride Month, June 2024
The Town Council authorized the display of rainbow flags downtown in celebration of Pride Month 2024. They also discussed options for maintaining the painted Progress Pride crosswalk.
