Town of Fairfax to Hold Community Evacuation Exercise on September 28

Posted on September 3, 2024

The Ross Valley Fire Department, in coordination with the Fairfax Police Department and the Town of Fairfax, is organizing an important community event on Saturday, September 28. Residents are encouraged to participate in an Evacuation Exercise designed to help you and your family prepare for emergencies.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 28
  • Time: Arrive anytime between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM
  • Location: St. Rita’s Church parking lot, 100 Marinda Drive, Fairfax

This is a slow-motion drill that allows you to practice evacuating safely in one vehicle. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts about how to prepare for an evacuation, meet local firefighters and police officers, and ensure they have everything they need in their Go-Bag.

This exercise is a critical step in ensuring our community is ready in case of an emergency. It’s a valuable opportunity for residents to familiarize themselves with evacuation procedures and ask any questions they might have.

What to Bring:

  • Your Go-Bag
  • Your vehicle (practice evacuating with just one)

We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to ensure our safety and preparedness!
