Update on Fairfax Sewer Capacity and Creek Crossings Project

Posted on April 1, 2025

The Ross Valley Sanitary District has announced that due to other high-priority capital improvements and current budget considerations, the bidding phase for this project is now expected to begin in April 2026.

While some of the original project components were already planned for construction in Summer 2026—due to environmental restrictions related to working near creeks—the downtown portion of the work will now also take place during that timeframe.

In the meantime, the District is working closely with the Town to coordinate efforts related to storm drain improvements and paving on Park Road this year. To support this coordination, planned sewer upgrades on Spruce Road and Park Road will be advanced and included in the District’s current 2024/2025 Gravity Sewer Improvements Project (GSIP), now under construction.

This adjustment offers an efficient solution, as the GSIP already includes work on nearby Sherman Street and Bolinas Road (near Town Hall). The District’s contractor, Glosage Engineering, will be in the area and well-positioned to complete the Spruce and Park Road sewer line upgrades as part of this ongoing project.
